Welcome:

Musicians will be "Singing out For Food" in Concert in a National Awareness event to feed our hungry people. We are singing out with your HELP to replenish our Food Banks/Pantries/and Soup Kitchens in our communities. During the summer months there is an increase in the usage of our Food agencies. This is in part due to the increasing demand of children needing food assistance because they are no longer receiving the breakfast and lunch school programs while they are on summer vacation. There is also a growing need for food assistance from the general public as a result in the declining economy.

In N.Y. State, 49% of those using Food Pantries are Children, and 35% using soup kitchens are children. http://www.hungeractionnys.org/hungerny.htm

In our country, 46.2% of pantry programs indicated there are "many more children in the summer", while 68.2% of kitchen programs indicated an increase during the same time of year. http://www.secondharvest.org/childhunger/child_hunger_facts.html

There are 33 million people- including 13 million children- live in households that experience hunger or risk of hunger. That represents 1 in 10 households in the U.S. (10% percent) http://www.worldhungeryear.org/

"Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, at any table, when man has the resources and the scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life".
